Why a personal page?
There's a ton of pages out there that really don't need to be on the web. Do we really need a Polar Bear fan club and is the world really better off with an Anti-Gordon Alliance? Of course not - so why add one more un-needed page to the world wide wierd?
I live in the computer age and spend more time in front of a screen than is probably good for me. It's just plain easier for me to keep lists of things on here than anywhere else. In other words, I use this site to keep track of things. Lists mainly. There may be some things that you are interested in, if you know me - and it may be a pretty boring site if you don't.
What Else?
The main thing to see around here is my blog. A blog is a mix of the words web and log and is basically an on-line journal. My blog contains some of my thoughts, some rants, and things I think are neat. To give you a better idea, here's a random peek, to see something current - view the blog.

Why so bland?
Aside from just liking a clean look, there's really no need for the "wiz-bang" stuff here. This site has a rather simple purpose and isn't likely to get updated often and isn't likely to have many visitors, it's more for me and my family than for the world.
That's not to say that my web ability is lacking....In fact, this page along with all the pages I've written in the past few years are fully compliant with w3c recommendations as well as in line with Section 508 requirements. It makes the web a better place for those with disabilities as well as those who have to change your code when you move on.
Of course, compliance doesn't have to mean boring. Take a look at Kevin's site for an example of a non-boring compliant personal site, or Berwyn Baptist Church for a compliant professional site.
