Best Pizza in Town

Today we made a quick trip to pick up a secret Santa gift and two last minute things and that ends our shopping. As a reward, we stopped at Pizza Roma on the way home to pick up an extra large. Pizza Roma's is your typical Pizza and sub shop. Not to much to look at - and actually looking a little run down. I've had a few sandwiches and they're Okay. The pizza, however, is among the best I've had and is certainly the best in College Park. And that's saying something for a college town.

The sauce is just a tad spicy, but not enough to turn anyone off. They also do something to the crust as it comes out of the oven - olive oil, maybe - that adds something special to the crust. They are also one of the few remaining places that uses an oven rather than a conveyor and I think that also makes a big difference.

If you're ever in College Park near meal time stop at the corner of Edgewood Road and Rhode Island Ave., they're right next to the REI. You don't have to get a whole pie, the slices are just as good (although, sadly but understandably, they don't deliver slices).
