Loch Ness?

One of the annoying things about this season is that all of the major networks have decided to try to grab hold of the success of Lost. They've gone to the format of a very short intro (about 5 seconds) and everything is about holding the mystery. Guess they don't understand that Lost is successful because it was a unique thought.

Anyhow, NBC's foray into this genre (is it even a genre yet) is Surface. It's about a new creature that has decided to live or already lived at the center of the Earth. As you can imagine, drilling to the middle of the Earth causes some problems for us on the surface.

The creature (and seeing one grow up) has been interesting before, but I'm not sure that it has staying power. Of course, the best thing is the creative episode titles. We learned about the characters in "Episode 1", then wrapped up some questions and raised new ones in "Episode 2". I've watched the 2 more since then and wonder if they'll make it to "Episode 22".
