An Ugly Win
You don't win if you don't play well so I won't say that the Steelers didn't deserve the game, but they certainly had some help.
I'm not a fan of either team, and frankly the match up seemed lack-luster, so it didn't bother me at all to miss the first half while at church. In fact, I didn't even TiVo the game, I only watched the second half.
Referees are human so I expect that there will be mistakes, even a number of them. But tonight, all the mistakes seemed to benefit the Steelers. I know there was a Seattle touchdown in the first half that was taken away for offensive pass interference, and I agree with the call (even if the half time crew doesn't). The rule is that you can't push off, and he did.
However, the Steeler touchdown in the first half, wasn't. The ball never broke the plain. Then later on there was a personal foul called after an interception that shouldn't have been (it was an illegal block, but the guy had the ball so it's not a block, it's a tackle and is allowed). And there was an illegal tackle (the new Horseshoe rule) shortly before the interception near the end of the game that wasn't called.
Still, the Steelers won, so good for them. I just wish there had been more even officiating.

Ya know, I can't remember a Superbowl I cared less about the teams in... but I do think the refs made the right call on the TD. It was pretty clear to me that it did just barely break the plane.
