Happy Almost Birthday
I have to give props to Toys R Us for making a kid feel special on his (almost) birthday. Generally, I see the "give us your birthday and we'll send you a gift" club as a way to get addresses and direct advertising, but, while Toys R Us does that, they go a little bit further.
Kevin got a card in the mail along with a giftcard for $3. Along with the card, was a slip that said to be sure to let an associate know when we came to the store near his birthday. When we went in, Kevin went to customer service and said, "Excuse me, it's my birthday day."
To celebrate, they gave him a crown and a balloon, as well as some stickers. They also announced his name and sang a birthday song over the PA. As he went looking around the store, many customers and every associate we encountered wished him a happy birthday.
All the way home and until bed he talked about how much he liked being the birthday boy and how special it was. Way to go Toys R Us.

Wish List
Kevin has begun thinking about Christmas and his Birthday and s pointing out all sorts of things that he thinks he would enjoy. We're, of course, going to cull the list a bit and shorten it, after all, most kids think that everything they see advertised would be perfect to have.
Anyhow, some of the items include the MindStorm Robot by Lego, Tall Stacker Pegs Building Set by Lauri, Pop-Up Pirate game by Tomy, books about astronomy and dinosaurs, and a Solar System Mobile.
Ravensburger Puzzel with Tractor
Garbage Truck
Yuck! science kit
Gertie Ball
Rescue Heroes Command Center
Toys R US had some sets called Sealife set, safari set and artic set (all in generic looking packaging)
Socker Boppers (look in toys R us sporting section)
Tonka Mighty Moterized Heliocopter
He's also into Legos, geotracks and superheros....Lego has some really neat superhero stuff.
Edit: You can also check his Amazon wishlist.

Kevin's Preschool Program
On Wednesday, Kevin's class and the 4 year old preschool had their Christmas program. They practiced hard, but many of the 3 year olds showed their shyness during the program.
So cute...

Titi & Danny's Big Gift
Kevin's uncle and aunt on Teri's side wanted to get a big gift for Kevin and brought him a Power Wheel's Fire Rescue Jeep (more pictures). He was quite surprised and has enjoyed climbing all over it and even taking a spin in the yard.

Songs
While resting today, Kevin said he needed the (fa-leece ma-E-dod) "Folice Maedad." Through some interpretation, I figured out that he was talking about "Faliz Navidad," but I'm clueless as to where he picked it up from - maybe he's doing that as part of the pre-school musical.

Flashing Back: Kevin's Birthday Party
This year we celebrated Kevin's Birthday just a tad early. We had plans that would take up the whole day on his birthday so we had the party the evening before. Five of his friends were able to come and they all had a great time.
The evening started with a few showing up and playing in the bedrooms and eventually jumping on the bed. Then we all ate, opened gifts and had cake. The party was covered in an earlier entry, but I also promised pictures.

O, Christmas Tree
It wasn't Kevin's first christmas, but it is the first one that he was thinking about more than just milk.
When he woke up this morning, he had a trike and a Simba under the tree. He made for the trike and in just a short time he was able to get on and get off the bike while it's in rocking mode (It's a rock, roll and ride).
After opening some gifts at home, we went to Grandmas, had some festivities and lunch there, then came home. After dinner, we opened the rest of the gifts, played, then it was time for a bath and bed.
For Christmas, Kevin recieved:
- Rock, Roll and Ride Trike
- Giant Simba
- Sing-Along Care Bear - Laughs alot
- Roll-a-round farm
- Little People Noah's Ark
- Fish Flashlight
- Remote Control Lady Bug
- Blanky
- Playskool Air-activity Ball Bopper

- Leap Frog Little TouchLeap Pad

So much food
Kevin had his first thanksgiving meal today...well, his first official thanksgiving meal, since yesterday's wasn't on thanskgiving, and last years milk doesn't really count. He started with a full plate and ate a bunch. He didn't have much turkey, focused on a few beans, then lots of stuffing, and sweet potatoes. Probably more than anyone else if you compare size.He had some pie when we did a few hours later, then headed for the bath. While he was in the bath, Teri and I noticed that his tummy had a little bulge from his dinner. Even so, he sucked down 8 ounces of milk before heading to bed - he was so tired there wasn't any fight other than not wanting to stay awake long enough to brush his teeth.
